Applicant must be a Texas resident who is the child of a deceased or disabled fireman, paid municipal, county or state peace officer, a custodial employee of the Department of Corrections or game warden (paid or volunteer), who died or was disabled in the line of duty while serving Texas. Applicant must be under age 21 (age 22 if eligible for a school district's special education program) and attend a public college or university in Texas.
