ASTA David J. Hallissey Memorial Internship

Applicant must be a citizen or permanent resident of any country, who is a full-time or part-time undergraduate, or full-time or part-time graduate student, pursuing a marketing degree with an interest in marketing research and also an interest in travel and tourism (preferred but not required); or a travel and tourism degree with an interest in marketing research as it relates to marketing (preferred but not required) at a college or university in the United States with a minimum 3.0 grade point average. Applicant will be enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university, and will be entering sophomore year in the fall of the calendar year of application; or enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university, and will be entering junior year in the fall of the calendar year of application; or enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university, and will be entering senior year in the fall of the calendar year of application; or enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university, and entering any year of graduate study in the fall of the calendar year of application. Please note this internship is for summer or fall and takes place in the Washington, DC area. Applicant should have strong written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills and a basic understanding of Microsoft Excel (required); and knowledge of Microsoft Access and SBSS software (preferred but not required). Please tell us about your academic and extracurricular activities and volunteer experiences, i.e. work, internships, etc., in marketing and how they tie into your present and future goals. Mention any awards or commendations you have received relating to the marketing industry; or, if you are a travel and tourism student: Discuss what segment of the travel and tourism industry your current program of study focuses on. What opportunities are you taking advantage of as you prepare for a career in the industry? Please tell us about your academic and extracurricular activities and volunteer experiences, i.e. work, internships, etc., in travel and tourism or marketing and how they tie into your present and future goals. Mention any awards or commendations you have received relating to the travel and tourism or hospitality industry.
