Bates, Dr. F. Lester Scholarship in Early Childhood Education

Applicant must meet one of the following criteria: have completed a minimum of 90 credit hours toward a Bachelor of Education Degree or at least 30 credit hours in a Bachelor of Education After Degree, with a focus on Early Childhood Education in Elementary Education; successfully completed EPS 100 with a 75% grade; successfully completed pre-internship; have a PGPA of 80% or higher based on ECE 205, ELNG 205, EPSY 205, ELNG 325, ECE 325 and the graded courses in the pre-internship semesters; be registered in 15 credit hours in the semester the award is presented. Preference will be given to a student whose exceptional performance in the elementary education courses and the pre-internship (winter semester) demonstrates a high level of communication skills (speaking, writing, presenting), critical and creative thinking, teamwork, and independent learning.
